Keshet has become a national model for training special education professionals who work with individuals with autism and communication disorders.
A unique partnership between the University of Chicago and Keshet promotes the use of state-of-the-art educational techniques, which structure the teaching environment to maximize the student's potential.
By forming partnerships and alliances with those sharing our vision, the University of Chicago and Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina, the Leventhal Autism Center is able to extend training opportunities to other professionals and parents positively impacting the lives of thousands of children.
The Center is based at the Keshet Day School and has achieved national acclaim as a therapeutic educational center for children with developmental disabilities.
The Center has established a wide scope of professional and parent trainings and seminars relevant to autistic spectrum disorders including the TEACCH model of structured teaching and other topics relating to educating and raising children with communication disorders.
The Center was established in memory of Howard and Florence Leventhal, parents of Bennett Leventhal, M.D., renowned autism expert and longstanding Keshet advisor and program collaborator.
