The Keshet Integrated Choir is a deeply moving presentation by over 100 Keshet participants, siblings, friends and peers from area day and Sunday schools.
Choir practices take place at Keshet in preparation for the performance in March at the Keshet Annual Banquet in front of 1500 business, civic, and community leaders.
For fifteen years the choir presentation has become a highlight and a most anticipated event in the community. This performance is the showcase of the Keshet ideal that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in the mainstream of the community.
The choir has become a national model for integration. Prime opportunities for friendships and understanding are created by the integrated nature of Keshet's Choir.
Keshet participants have the opportunity to experience singing in the same ways as all children, while their friends come away with new levels of understanding and acceptance.
"To be able to sing, or sign, or just move to the music is something every child can do. Music makes all children equal."
